Arsenal play host to Chelsea in the Premier League on Wednesday and any result other than a win for the Gunners will put their top four ambition in doubt. Arsenal are currently four points adrift Liverpool in fifth position on the Premier League log.
However, Arsenal may have been boosted by the return of Mesut Ozil to the side after the German playmaker failed to play against West Bromwich Albion due to a lingering knee injury, reports the Express.
The absence of Ozil was apparently felt as Alex Iwobi who played in his stead failed to make any meaningful impact in the game. He has reportedly returned to training ahead of the London derby and he looks set to return to Arsene Wenger’s team.
Ozil is in the final year of his current contract with Arsenal and he has stalled on signing a new deal. The German star has been linked with a move to Manchester United but Arsene Wenger reckons that the 29-year-old will be at the Emirates until the end of the season.
Jack Wilshere is expected to retain his place in the middle of the pack while Iwobi could still be featured if Wenger decides to play a back four.
